This year we activated our district Zell am See (ZE) with battery-powered equipment from a farm in Saalfelden…
OE2WNL Wolfgang and I, OE2ATN Tom were active from 07:00-10:00 and 16:00-19:00 local time on 40 and 80 meter band in SSB and CW. So our log will qualify for mixed category.
We made contacts with almost 130 stations from all over Austria. We also learned a few things on how to operate from battery power in an emergency situation and will improve our setup for the next year…
Equipment:
- Yaesu FT-857, key and notebook
100W output into W3DZZ antenna - driven from homemade battery-box with 12 V / 120 Ah Lead-Acid battery (from old car)
It was fun to operate together again after a looong time of no ham-radio activity.
